HAPPY GUY was checked on jumping when crowded for room between GRACE HEART and WHO ELSE BUT YOU, both of which shifted ground. In this incident, all three horses became badly unbalanced. HAPPY BAO BEI shifted out at the start and bumped SHALLUCK. TRIUMPHANT JEWEL and GENEROUS HEART bumped on jumping. BREEDERS’ STAR began awkwardly and lost ground and then shortly after the start was shifted across behind runners. Also from wide barriers, GRACE HEART and HAPPY GUY were shifted across behind runners in the early stages. Despite being hard ridden in the early stages, TRIUMPHANT JEWEL failed to muster speed. Near the 1150 Metres, DOLLAR REWARD shifted out and bumped HARBOUR ALERT. Approaching the 1000 Metres, DOLLAR REWARD was steadied away from the heels of HARBOUR ALERT (S Clipperton) which shifted in when not quite clear. S Clipperton was reprimanded and advised to exercise more care in future. Near the 950 Metres, HAPPY BAO BEI got its head up when awkwardly placed outside the heels of JOLLY CONVERGENCE. Making the turn after the 600 Metres, GENEROUS HEART got its head on the side, lay in and brushed the running rail. Approaching and passing the 200 Metres, JOLLY CONVERGENCE shifted out under pressure and was awkwardly placed inside the heels of GENEROUS HEART. Then over the concluding stages, JOLLY CONVERGENCE was awkwardly placed close to the heels of HARBOUR ALERT and consequently was not able to be ridden out to the end of the race. Throughout the race, HAPPY GUY was detached from the field and subsequently finished tailed out. A veterinary inspection of HAPPY GUY immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. The performance of HAPPY GUY was considered unacceptable. Before being allowed to race again, HAPPY GUY will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination. After the race, the Veterinary Officer reported that GRACE HEART was lame in its left front leg. Before being allowed to race again, GRACE HEART will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. A veterinary inspection of DOLLAR REWARD immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. GENEROUS HEART, WHO ELSE BUT YOU and HARBOUR ALERT were sent for sampling.
