On jumping, THREE CLUBS was taken back. Also on jumping, MY WHISKY blundered. TRAVEL GUIDE was slow into stride, then took time to muster. At the 1200 Metres, HORACE’S LEGEND was bumped by TRAVEL GUIDE. After this, TRAVEL GUIDE commenced to over-race, became unbalanced when being steadied away from the heels of SPECIAL K and shifted out, causing HORACE’S LEGEND to be hampered and carried wider. GLORY OF INDIA, which was following, was checked away from the heels of HORACE’S LEGEND. Making the turn at the 800 Metres, MOON CHASER, which was being shifted away from the rail from behind HAPPY WIN, was checked when tightened for room inside SPECIAL K which at the same time was being shifted in and was then steadied away from the heels of GOOD LUCK WIN which when over-racing was steadied while awkwardly placed inside the heels of HOME TREASURE (G Mossé) which shifted in when not properly clear. SUPER GOAL MASTER and TRAVEL GUIDE, which were following, were checked in consequence. G Mossé was told whilst the Stewards accepted the racing manners of GOOD LUCK WIN had contributed to the incident, he nonetheless should ensure he is clear of other runners prior to shifting ground. In the middle stages, GOOD LUCK WIN continued to over-race and proved difficult to settle and making the Home Turn hung out. HOME TREASURE hung out making the Home Turn. In the early part of the Straight, THREE CLUBS had difficulty obtaining clear running. At the 200 Metres, GLORY OF INDIA, TRAVEL GUIDE and QUALITY-QUALITY were hampered and carried wider by SUPER GOAL MASTER which was carried out by GOOD LUCK WIN which shifted ground abruptly. Throughout the race, KEEP ME travelled wide and without cover. When questioned regarding the poor performance of SUPER GOAL MASTER, C K Tong said his mount travelled only fairly in the early stages and after receiving the backwash of interference making the turn at the 800 Metres commenced to race somewhat ungenerously. He said SUPER GOAL MASTER failed to close the race off in the Straight and added the horse may be best suited when racing at Happy Valley. SUPER GOAL MASTER was sent for an official veterinary inspection. A veterinary inspection of SUPER GOAL MASTER after the race did not show any significant findings. SPECIAL K and MOON CHASER were sent for sampling.
