MATSUKAZE began awkwardly and lost a considerable amount of ground. GRAND DRAGON bounded in the air at the start and lost ground. SPICY FRUITY was a little slow to begin, then lost further ground when crowded for room between BRAVO WINNER and FAIR NAVIGATOR which was carried out by XAVERIAN QUEST. After this, despite being ridden along, SPICY FRUITY failed to muster and then near the 400 Metres was shifted in to obtain clear running. For a considerable distance after the 400 Metres, GANBARIA was held up and unable to obtain clear running. Near the 300 Metres, BRAVO WINNER became unbalanced and lost ground after being bumped by GANBARIA which was shifted out to obtain clear running. After the 100 Metres, BRAVO WINNER, which was shifting in, became unbalanced and lost ground when being steadied away from the heels of BLESS US ALL which shifted out slightly. KING OF SCOTS, GRAND DRAGON and GANBARIA were sent for sampling. After the race, it was reported that FAIR NAVIGATOR had lost its right front plate.
