Prior to leaving the saddling stalls, NEW IDEA had its right hind plate reset. NEW IDEA was examined by the Veterinary Officer who said in his opinion it was suitable to race. HAPPY PROGRESSION was slow to begin. On jumping, AMO was taken back. FEEL-SO-GOOD was slow into stride and shortly after the start was bumped on the shoulder by NEW IDEA which shifted out. As a result, NEW IDEA and FEEL-SO-GOOD became unbalanced. For some distance after this, NEW IDEA raced ungenerously. Approaching the turn at the 1000 Metres, SOHNA lost ground after bumping with HAPPY PROGRESSION when hanging in away from KING POWER. Making the turn at the 1000 Metres, RACING SPIRIT, which had its head on the side and was hanging in, was bumped by FEEL-SO-GOOD which shifted out away from the heels of SOHNA. Also making the turn at the 1000 Metres, NEW IDEA lost ground when being steadied away from the heels of SOHNA. After entering the Straight, HEALTHY CONTENDER got its head on the side and hung in. NEW IDEA, LOYAL ARMY and MARVELLOUS were sent for sampling.
