Steward Report Predict Pace Map
CELESTIAL WONDER was withdrawn on 12.4.09 by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (lame left fore) and was replaced by Standby Declared Starter CHAMPION PIONEER (M Du Plessis). Before being allowed to race again, CELESTIAL WONDER will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. After arriving at the Start, it was noted MASTER MASTER had lost its right hind plate. Before being loaded, this plate was reset. MASTER MASTER was examined by the Veterinary Officer who said in his opinion it was suitable to race. MASTER MASTER bounded in the air at the start and lost ground. CHEERFUL HAPPINESS began awkwardly and lost ground. When the gates opened, GOOD TIME CHARLIE bounded in the air and struck its head on an overhead bar in the barriers. As a consequence, GOOD TIME CHARLIE lost ground. GOOD TIME CHARLIE was sent for an official veterinary inspection. After the race, GOOD TIME CHARLIE was examined by the Veterinary Officer who said there were no significant findings. At the 1400 Metres, SUPER IDEAL was steadied when awkwardly placed between FRAMES DEPOT and MASTER MASTER. In the Straight, DIAMOND PRINCE hung in and SUPER IDEAL raced ungenerously and proved difficult to ride. E Saint-Martin (FRAMES DEPOT) explained his mount began awkwardly and bumped the outside gate of its stall which caused him to become unbalanced in the saddle. He said shortly after the start he looked down to ensure FRAMES DEPOT had not been injured as in his opinion the horse did not appear to be striding out as it should. He said at no stage of the race did FRAMES DEPOT travel well and was a beaten horse on straightening. FRAMES DEPOT and MASTER MASTER were sent for an official veterinary inspection. After the race, FRAMES DEPOT was examined by the Veterinary Officer who said the horse had sustained an abrasion wound to its right hind cannon. Also after the race, MASTER MASTER was examined by the Veterinary Officer who said there were no significant findings other than the horse had lost its left hind and right front plates. DANEPRINT, SUPER FANTASY and SUPER FAMILY were sent for sampling. <14/4/2009> Additional Veterinary Report MASTER MASTER, which performed poorly, was examined by the Veterinary Officer. He said at that time there were no significant findings other than the horse had lost its left hind and right front plates. MASTER MASTER was again examined by the Veterinary Officer at the stables of Trainer S Woods this morning. He said at this time he noted the horse to have a swollen left front tendon sheath and swollen both front fetlocks. Before being allowed to race again, MASTER MASTER will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
