After arriving at the Start, the tongue tie fitted to GREEN GLORY was replaced. When the gates opened, SUPER BABY stood flat-footed and lost a considerable amount of ground. GALLANT MASTER was slow to begin. In the early stages, GREEN GLORY was taken back. Despite being ridden along in the early stages, WIN MORE was slow to muster speed. At the 1300 Metres, FUJIAN PRINCE was steadied when awkwardly placed inside GRAND GENERAL which was carried in by WINBO. From on straightening until the 300 Metres, WIN MORE was held up and unable to obtain clear running, then near the 200 Metres was awkwardly placed close to the heels of TOUCH LUCKY which was giving ground. Approaching and passing the 300 Metres, BEST NOODLE had some difficulty obtaining clear running inside WINBO. After the 300 Metres, MAMMA MIA got its head on the side and hung in away from GALLANT MASTER which when being ridden out got its head on the side and hung in. Approaching the 200 Metres, FOREST FOUNTAIN, which for a considerable distance had been having difficulty obtaining clear running, was checked to avoid the heels of FUJIAN PRINCE which was giving ground. Also approaching the 200 Metres, GREEN GLORY was steadied when crowded for room inside GIANT BLIZZARD which got its head on the side and shifted in away from GALLANT MASTER as that horse shifted in. No action was taken. After the 50 Metres, Apprentice M Chadwick (BEST NOODLE) dropped his left rein. Over the concluding stages, BEST NOODLE hung out. Throughout the race, FUJIAN PRINCE travelled in a forward position, however, was wide and without cover. Apprentice T H So (WINBO) was reminded of his responsibility to ride his mounts out at least hands and heels to the end of the race where circumstances permit. GREEN GLORY and FOREST FOUNTAIN were sent for an official veterinary inspection. A veterinary inspection of GREEN GLORY and FOREST FOUNTAIN after the race did not show any significant findings. TOUCH LUCKY, GALLANT MASTER and VISIONARIO were sent for sampling.
