While in the saddling stalls, SUNNY SMILES had its right hind plate refitted. SUNNY SMILES was examined by the Veterinary Officer who said in his opinion it was suitable to race. NEW IDEA was slow to begin. SIR LAGO was slow into stride. Passing the winning post on the first occasion, SUNNY SMILES was steadied away from the heels of NEW IDEA which shifted out slightly. After passing the winning post on the first occasion, NEW IDEA was steadied away from the heels of KAISER'S CHOIX. J Lloyd (BOBO WIN) was found guilty of a charge of careless riding [Rule 100(1)] in that near the 600 Metres he failed to take sufficient measures to prevent his mount from shifting in, thereby resulting in crowding on his inside to SUDDEN SPLENDOR and PLOT RATIO, both of which lost their rightful running and were checked. KAISER'S CHOIX, which was following, was hampered and shifted out to a position without cover. J Lloyd was suspended from riding in races for a period to expire on Saturday 2 May 2009 on which day he may resume race riding (2 Hong Kong racedays). The commencement of the suspension was deferred until after the Happy Valley racemeeting next Wednesday 22 April 2009. When giving ground after the 600 Metres, BOBO WIN hung in and near the 400 Metres was steadied away from the heels of SUDDEN SPLENDOR, then shortly afterwards away from the heels of NEW IDEA. J Lloyd said from the outside barrier he was instructed to go forward on his mount which had recently not been beginning well and endeavour to obtain a position with cover in front of midfield if possible. He said today BOBO WIN began well, he immediately went forward on his mount, however, was not able to obtain a position with cover and therefore travelled further forward than intended. BOBO WIN was sent for an official veterinary inspection. A veterinary inspection of BOBO WIN after the race did not show any significant findings. The performance of BOBO WIN, which finished tailed out, was considered unacceptable. Before being permitted to race again, BOBO WIN will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in an official barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination. PEARL HALO was sent for an official veterinary inspection. After the race, PEARL HALO was examined by the Veterinary Officer. He said the horse had bled from both nostrils. CONNOISSEUR'S LOVE was sent for an official veterinary inspection. A veterinary inspection of CONNOISSEUR'S LOVE after the race did not show any significant findings. NEW IDEA, TREMENDOUS PLUS and KAISER'S CHOIX were sent for sampling.
