Shortly after the start, NOBLE CHOICE and PRETTY TOUCH were crowded for room between TRUE INTELLIGENCE and WELL NOTED which was carried out by INDUSTRIAL MARVEL. Approaching the turn at the 700 Metres, MANY GAINS was steadied away from the heels of INDUSTRIAL MARVEL. After becoming unbalanced, MANY GAINS shifted out and bumped ACHILLES OF TROY which also became unbalanced. Making the turn at the 700 Metres, WELL NOTED was left racing wide and without cover. At the 150 Metres, CLASSIC NAVIGATOR, which for some distance had been experiencing difficulty obtaining clear running, was steadied when awkwardly placed between the heels of WHISKY POWER and WELL NOTED. At the 100 Metres, WELL NOTED, which was giving ground, raced tight with WHISKY POWER which when giving ground was taken out slightly by ACHILLES OF TROY. As Trainer C H Yip had left the course, the Stewards will afford him an opportunity to explain the improved performance of the winner, INDUSTRIAL MARVEL, at a date to be fixed. CLASSIC NAVIGATOR was sent for an official veterinary inspection. A veterinary inspection of CLASSIC NAVIGATOR after the race did not show any significant findings. ACHILLES OF TROY, INDUSTRIAL MARVEL and TRUE INTELLIGENCE were sent for sampling.
