NOBLE CONQUEROR was slow to begin. WHITE JADE began awkwardly and got its head up, then was taken across to a position with cover from a wide barrier, however, near the 1100 Metres was left racing without cover. Shortly after the start, FEARLESS was steadied away from the heels of MR MEDICI. Passing the 1200 Metres, MASTER POWER, which was over-racing, got its head up when being steadied away from the heels of OPERATION SECRET. Near the 600 Metres, BULLISH CASH, which was racing ungenerously and was inclined to hang out, shifted out from behind SYLLABUS. Shortly after straightening, NOBLE CONQUEROR, which was having difficulty obtaining clear running, was steadied and shifted in, then at the 250 Metres was steadied away from the heels of MASTER POWER and afterwards for a considerable distance had difficulty obtaining clear running. Also shortly after straightening, HELENE MASCOT, which commenced to give ground, was inconvenienced by FULL OF JOY which shifted out. For a considerable distance after straightening, OPERATION SECRET was held up and unable to improve. B Prebble (BULLISH CASH) explained his mount travelled only fairly throughout the race, in the early part of the Straight responded to his riding, however, at the 300 Metres commenced to give ground. He said he became concerned with the action of BULLISH CASH when it was giving ground and in his opinion the horse felt sore in front. Before being allowed to race again, BULLISH CASH will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. HELENE MASCOT and SPECIAL DAYS were sent for an official veterinary inspection. A veterinary inspection of HELENE MASCOT and SPECIAL DAYS after the race did not show any significant findings. JACKPOT DELIGHT and MR MEDICI were sent for sampling. <2/7/2009 Additional Veterinary Report> HELENE MASCOT, which performed poorly, was examined by the Veterinary Officer. He said at that time there were no significant findings. HELENE MASCOT was again examined by the Head of Veterinary Regulation & International Liaison at the stables of Trainer A S Cruz this morning. He said at this time he noted the horse to be lame in its right front leg. Before being allowed to race again, HELENE MASCOT will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
