Shortly after the start, EPEE DE HUA was crowded for room between CENTENNIAL SMILE and ODE TO JOY which shifted in slightly. For some distance passing the 700 Metres, CLASSIC KING was steadied away from the heels of ROCKET AND GOLD. Passing the 400 Metres, ROCKET AND GOLD was steadied and shifted to the inside of DRAGON BOY when disappointed for running between that horse and FOREVER FORTUNE. Passing the 250 Metres, G Cheyne (MYTHIC STEED) dropped his right rein. Throughout the race, MYTHIC STEED travelled wide and without cover. When questioned, Z Purton (GO STITCH) stated that his mount began awkwardly, resulting in him being unbalanced in the saddle. He said shortly after the start GO STITCH shifted towards the outside fence and, as he was already unbalanced in the saddle, he then became dislodged from GO STITCH. Prior to being permitted to race again, GO STITCH will be required to perform satisfactorily in an official barrier trial. A veterinary inspection of JOYFUL YEARS and CENTENNIAL SMILE after the race did not show any significant findings. DRAGON BOY, FOREVER FORTUNE and MYTHIC STEED were sent for sampling.
