HOLIDAY SUN began awkwardly and lost ground. Shortly after the start, DASHING THUNDER was steadied when crowded for room between HARRY HARRY and WONG’S FAVOURITE which was taken out by REGENCY KINGDOM. Apprentice T H So (GOOD PARTNER) pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding [Rule 100(1)] in that after the 1500 Metres he permitted his mount to shift in when insufficiently clear of SUPERNOVA, resulting in that horse having to be checked when it lost the running to which it was rightfully entitled. Apprentice So was suspended from riding in races for a period to expire on Monday 16 November 2009 on which day he may resume race riding (2 Hong Kong racedays). The commencement of the suspension was deferred until after the Sha Tin racemeeting on Saturday 7 November 2009. Near the 1300 Metres, AMAZING JOURNEY, which proved difficult to settle, was steadied away from the heels of HARRY HARRY which shifted in. In the early and middle stages, AMAZING FORTUNE travelled wide and without cover. For some distance approaching and passing the 200 Metres, HOLIDAY SUN was checked away from the heels of runners in front when held up for clear running. In the Straight, SUPERNOVA hung in and proved difficult to ride. Throughout the race, GOOD PARTNER travelled wide. HAPPY GO LUCKY and REGENCY KINGDOM were sent for sampling.
