TAKEANOTHERCHANCE was slow to begin. ALL TIME HIGH began awkwardly. Passing the 350 Metres, HORSE WIN WIN was steadied when crowded for room between WINNING FELLOWSHIP and BOLERO which, after being held up for clear running, was shifted to the outside of LOMBARDI to improve. Approaching the 100 Metres, BOLERO was steadied when crowded for room between LOMBARDI and WINNING FELLOWSHIP (B Doyle) which shifted in. B Doyle was severely reprimanded and advised to ensure he does his utmost to keep his mounts on a straight course in future. Near the 50 Metres, CARS KING PRAWN was momentarily steadied when tightened for room between AMBITIOUS OWNER and TAKEANOTHERCHANCE, both of which shifted ground. Over the concluding stages, LOMBARDI was taken in by WINNING FELLOWSHIP which continued to shift in. Throughout the race, KING AL AKBAR travelled wide and without cover. A veterinary inspection of MERIDIAN PRIDE, which tailed out, revealed that the horse was bleeding from a cut to the mouth. The performance of MERIDIAN PRIDE was considered unacceptable. Before being allowed to race again, MERIDIAN PRIDE will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in an official barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination. A veterinary inspection of ALL TIME HIGH after the race did not show any significant findings. WINNING FELLOWSHIP and GO LUCKY GO were sent for sampling.
