KOWLOON PRIDE began awkwardly. Shortly after the start, FUN RIDER was hampered by AMAZING JOURNEY which shifted out. Passing the 1300 Metres, KOWLOON PRIDE was bumped by FUN RIDER. Making the first turn, FUN RIDER shifted in when awkwardly placed close to the heels of AMAZING JOURNEY and bumped KOWLOON PRIDE. In the early part of the Straight, FUN RIDER was held up for clear running and passing the 400 Metres was shifted in to improve. KOWLOON PRIDE was also held up for clear running in the early part of the Straight. In the Straight, both SPLENDID CHAMPION and AMAZING JOURNEY were inclined to get their heads on the side and shifted ground under pressure. Throughout the race, DIVINE KID travelled wide and without cover. A veterinary inspection of SICHUAN HERO and GOLD CITY after the race did not show any significant findings. A veterinary inspection of MIGHTY WINNER after the race revealed the horse had lost its right hind plate and had sustained a cut to the inside of its right hind heel. KOWLOON PRIDE, AMAZING JOURNEY and SPLENDID CHAMPION were sent for sampling.
