KILDARE began awkwardly and then shortly after the start was crowded for room between ISLAND SUPER and ST FEVRE which shifted in. At the start, PERFECT STYLE was steadied when crowded for room between SWEET SANETTE and HOLEY DOLLAR which shifted out. Shortly after the start, WATCH WHAT HAPPENS was steadied when crowded for room between CANNONISE which shifted out and BLAZE KING which shifted in after blundering on jumping. Near the 900 Metres, WATCH WHAT HAPPENS got its head up and proved difficult to settle when being steadied away from the heels of FRIENDLY GAINS. Rounding the first turn, NORMAN INVADER was steadied away from the heels of SWEET SANETTE. Passing the 500 Metres, FRIENDLY GAINS was awkwardly placed close to the heels of ST FEVRE and inside BLAZE KING. Passing the 400 Metres, KILDARE was steadied when crowded for room between DIAMOND BRILLIANCE and FRIENDLY GAINS which got its head on the side and shifted in slightly away from BLAZE KING. Approaching the 200 Metres, J Victoire (WATCH WHAT HAPPENS) dropped his whip. As this was the 4th occasion that Jockey Victoire had dropped his whip this season, the Stewards will interview him regarding this matter prior to the first race next Tuesday 16 February 2010 at Sha Tin Racecourse. Near the 100 Metres, NORMAN INVADER was steadied when disappointed for running between HOLEY DOLLAR and ST FEVRE, both of which shifted ground. PERFECT STYLE, which was following, was inconvenienced as a consequence. Throughout the race, CANNONISE travelled wide and without cover. A veterinary inspection of BLAZE KING after the race did not show any significant findings. HOLEY DOLLAR, SWEET SANETTE and ST FEVRE were sent for sampling. After the race, the Veterinary Officer reported that ISLAND SUPER had lost its left front plate.
