BIG WINNER AGAIN began awkwardly and then despite being ridden along in the early stages failed to muster speed. MY MADE ADRIC and MAKE IT bumped at the start. Then shortly after the start, MAKE IT was steadied when crowded for room between FLORAL PICASSO and MY MATE ADRIC which was taken out slightly by DR WELL. After being crossed by MY MATE ADRIC passing the 1200 Metres, DR WELL commenced to prove difficult to settle and was restrained away from the heels of MY MATE ADRIC for some distance. Near the 1100 Metres, GIVE WELL commenced to prove difficult to settle, was checked away from the heels of LUCKY EMPEROR and shifted out abruptly, resulting in MAKE IT and HOLIDAY SUN being hampered and taken wider. Passing the 1000 Metres, PACKING FRIEND was steadied away from the heels of DR WELL and shifted out, resulting in MARK UP and MASTER DRAGON being taken wider until passing the 700 Metres. In the early part of the Straight, BIG WINNER AGAIN got its head on the side and lay in. Over the final 100 Metres, LUCKY EMPEROR was unable to obtain clear running behind MY MATE ADRIC and inside FLORAL PICASSO. Because of this, LUCKY EMPEROR was not ridden out to the end of the race as it normally would be. Over the concluding stages, MAKE IT got its head on the side, shifted in and proved difficult to ride. A veterinary inspection of FLORAL PICASSO after the race did not show any significant findings. MARK UP and PACKING FRIEND were sent for sampling.
