Steward Report Predict Pace Map
At the start, MASTER DREAMER was crowded for room between FLORAL NIRVANA which shifted out slightly and WIN MORE which got its head on the side and shifted in. A short distance later, MASTER DREAMER was checked when further crowded for room between FLORAL NIRVANA and WIN MORE which was taken in by WONDERFUL GAINS (D Whyte). D Whyte was reprimanded and advised to ensure he leaves sufficient racing room for runners to his inside in future. Shortly after the start, FANTASTIC GUY was bumped by PERFECT TEN which shifted out. After this, PERFECT TEN and FANTASTIC GUY were taken across behind runners. Making the first turn passing the 2000 Metres, WIN MORE was momentarily tightened for room between FLORAL NIRVANA and BREAKING POINT which shifted in slightly before being corrected by its rider. Near the 1300 Metres, FANTASTIC GUY was checked out away from the heels of FANTASTIC DANCER which itself was awkwardly placed close to the heels of WONDERFUL GAINS. At the same point, MASTER DREAMER was checked away from the heels of MY BOY. Passing the 600 Metres, WIN MORE, CLASSIC ENERGY, BEST NOODLE and WONDERFUL GAINS raced tight inside FLORAL NIRVANA (Y T Cheng) which, when improving its position, shifted in when not clear of WONDERFUL GAINS. Y T Cheng was reprimanded and advised to ensure he is sufficiently clear when shifting ground in similar circumstances. Over the final 150 Metres, PERFECT TEN was awkwardly placed behind and inside FLORAL NIRVANA when attempting to improve into clear running to the inside of that horse. The performance of MY BOY, which finished tailed out, was considered unacceptable. Before being allowed to race again, MY BOY will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in an official barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination. When questioned regarding the disappointing performance of CLASSIC ENERGY, O Doleuze stated that he had been instructed to ride his mount positively in the early stages to overcome the wide barrier. He said it was hoped that CLASSIC ENERGY would then be able to relax which would enable him to allow other runners to improve which would provide CLASSIC ENERGY with cover. He said when ridden with cover behind the leaders at its most recent start from an inside barrier, the horse, whilst proving somewhat difficult to settle, had been able to finish off the race. He said as instructed he rode his mount along in the early stages and was able to find the fence in the lead. He said however that in today’s race, CLASSIC ENERGY proved very difficult to settle and even after being crossed approaching the winning post on the first occasion continued to over-race badly. He said because of the manner in which CLASSIC ENERGY raced today, the horse was then not able to finish off the race. A veterinary inspection of BREAKING POINT, CLASSIC ENERGY and MY BOY after the race did not show any significant findings. WONDERFUL GAINS, FLORAL NIRVANA and ZEPHYRUS were sent for sampling.
