On arrival at the Start, the tongue tie fitted to CARISSIMA was replaced. HOME WITH GLORY was slow to begin. AMBITIOUS OWNER and DR WIN bumped at the start. CARISSIMA was slow to begin and shortly after the start was crowded for room between LUCKY NISTELROOY and SOHNA, both of which shifted ground. FIONN’S DRAGON began awkwardly and shifted out at the start, resulting in ENERGIZED being tightened for room inside LIONS’ FORTUNE. Passing the 1200 Metres, NOBLE DE BEST was crowded for room between QUANTUM EXPRESS and HOME WITH GLORY which got its head on the side and shifted out. Approaching the 900 Metres, NOBLE DE BEST proved difficult to settle and was checked away from the heels of QUANTUM EXPRESS. Near the 800 Metres, CARISSIMA was awkwardly placed inside the heels of JOLLY WONGCHOY. At the entrance to the Straight, HOME WITH GLORY and DR WIN bumped as HOME WITH GLORY attempted to obtain clear running between DR WIN and CLASSA SUPREME. AMBITIOUS OWNER was held up for clear running in the early part of the Straight and when shifted out for clear running near the 350 Metres bumped FIONN’S DRAGON which became unbalanced. Approaching the 200 Metres, LUCKY NISTELROOY shifted out away from the heels of CLASSA SUPREME and near the 150 Metres again shifted out when awkwardly placed close to the heels of DR WIN, resulting in HOME WITH GLORY being bumped. Over the concluding stages, NOBLE DE BEST was steadied away from the heels of JOLLY WONGCHOY which shifted out. Throughout the race, LIONS’ FORTUNE travelled wide and without cover. When questioned regarding the disappointing performance of DR WIN, D Beadman said he was obliged to make use of the horse in the early stages to cross from barrier 14 to race outside CLASSA SUPREME. He said after obtaining the position outside that horse near the 850 Metres, DR WIN travelled comfortably, however, came under pressure in the early part of the Straight and despite his riding the horse along, DR WIN gave ground. He said, in his opinion, DR WIN was not able to finish off the race today due to it having to be used up in the early stages carrying 133 lbs. A veterinary inspection of DR WIN after the race did not show any significant findings. A veterinary inspection of FIONN’S DRAGON after the race revealed that the horse was displaying an irregular heart rhythm. Before being permitted to race again, FIONN’S DRAGON will be required to perform satisfactorily in an official barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination. FIONN’S DRAGON, SOHNA and FUN HEROES were sent for sampling.
