MEGA BULLET was withdrawn on 25.5.10 by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (sore left fore fetlock) and was replaced by Standby Declared Starter SUNSHINE BOY (M W Leung). Before being allowed to race again, MEGA BULLET will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. Shortly after the start, WHITE DRAGON raced tight between CAGA BOY and SUNSHINE BOY which shifted out. This resulted in WHITE DRAGON and CAGA BOY becoming unbalanced. In the early stages, MARBLE RED was ridden along to obtain a forward position and near the 1600 Metres momentarily raced tight between BLEDISLOE and UNIQUE SPEED. Approaching the winning post on the first occasion, EAST OCEAN was checked after racing tight between LUCKY AMICI and NORDIC STAR which itself was taken out slightly by BLEDISLOE which shifted a minimum amount of ground. No further action was taken. Rounding the Home Turn, MARBLE RED was steadied away from the heels of LIONS` FORTUNE and then at the entrance to the Straight shifted out and bumped BLEDISLOE. Trainer Y O Wong reported that as LIONS` FORTUNE had yet to be successful in 19 starts in Hong Kong, a decision was made at the request of the owner for the horse to be ridden in a more forward position tonight to see if it was able to finish off the race. VIVA GUY, CENTRAL ROLE and UNIQUE SPEED were sent for sampling.
