CHATER DE LAGO proved very difficult to load. Having in mind CHATER DE LAGO`s prior record in respect of being loaded into the barriers, the Stewards ruled that the horse must perform satisfactorily in an official barrier trial prior to racing again. CHATER DE LAGO was slow to begin. HO HO LIFE and CENTURY KNIGHT bumped at the start. OLYMPICSHIP, which began awkwardly, was crowded for room shortly after the start between BOLD CHAMPION and CLASSA SUPREME which shifted in. Approaching the winning post on the first occasion, CLASSA SUPREME, after being crossed by TOUT VA BIEN, was steadied away from the heels of that horse. BOLD CHAMPION, which was following CLASSA SUPREME, was checked in consequence. Passing the winning post on the first occasion, NICKU lay in when awkwardly placed close to the heels of HO HO LIFE. NICKU then shifted out, resulting in MAGIC TURBO being taken wider. After this, MAGIC TURBO raced wide and without cover and approaching the 1200 Metres was allowed to stride forward. However, MAGIC TURBO travelled three wide and without cover for the remainder of the race outside the lead. Rounding the Home Turn, TOP HONOR made contact with the running rail and became unbalanced. Passing the 200 Metres, BULB TREASURE had some difficulty obtaining clear running. Near the 150 Metres, BOLD CHAMPION was shifted out away from the heels of TOUT VA BIEN to improve. Passing the 150 Metres, NICKU got its head on the side and shifted out. Approaching the 50 Metres, HO HO LIFE, which was obtaining a tight run between CLASSA SUPREME and MAGIC TURBO, was crowded for room between those horses when MAGIC TURBO shifted in slightly. In this incident, HO HO LIFE made contact with the hindquarters of CLASSA SUPREME which became unbalanced. A veterinary inspection of OLYMPICSHIP, CHATER DE LAGO and TOUT VA BIEN after the race did not show any significant findings. BULB TREASURE and BOLD CHAMPION were sent for sampling.
