From wide barriers, both MY WAY and THE KID were taken across behind runners shortly after the start. Also shortly after the start, BERNINI was crowded for room between TRANSCENDENCE and SMART CODE, both of which shifted ground. Approaching the 1000 Metres, TRANSCENDENCE was steadied away from the heels of SCOOT DA LOOT. After this, TRANSCENDENCE was left racing wide and without cover. Inside the 100 Metres, DIAMOND PRINCE and THE KID bumped due to both horses shifting ground. When questioned regarding the performance of TREASURABLE, Apprentice K C Leung stated that his mount travelled only fairly during the race and after being awkwardly placed close to the heels of BERNINI shortly after entering the Straight, TREASURABLE was most disappointing in its failure to respond to his riding. He added that he had worked TREASURABLE in the lead up to tonight’s race and, in his opinion, this work had been good. A veterinary inspection of TREASURABLE after the race did not show any significant findings. KING’S CHOICE and SCOOT DA LOOT were sent for sampling.
