From wide barriers, HUMONGUS and GOLDEN OPPORTUNITY were taken across behind runners shortly after the start. Shortly after the start, MY WAY was steadied away from the heels of LUCKY AMICI which shifted out after being bumped by ICE FIRE. Passing the winning post on the first occasion, FANTASTISCH got its head up when awkwardly placed close to the heels of DRAGON BOY. Passing the 1300 Metres, STAR OF CHIU TON raced tight between FANTASTISCH and LIVERBIRD, both of which shifted ground. Then passing the 1200 Metres, STAR OF CHIU TON, which was racing wide, was allowed to stride forward to take up a position in the lead. Over the concluding stages, GOLDEN OPPORTUNITY was awkwardly placed close to the heels of BEL CANTO and tight inside STAR OF CHIU TON. Because of this, GOLDEN OPPORTUNITY was not ridden out to the end of the race as it normally would be. Also over the concluding stages, HUMONGUS got its head on the side and shifted in. In the Straight, MY WAY got its head on the side and shifted in. Also in the Straight, LUCKY AMICI raced tight inside BEL CANTO. For the major part of the race, LIVERBIRD travelled wide and without cover. A veterinary inspection of STAR OF CHIU TON after the race did not show any significant findings. MY WAY and FANTASTISCH were sent for sampling. <24/9/2010 Additional Veterinary Report > The Clinical Veterinary Surgeon reported that GOLDEN OPPORTUNITY had a stiff and restricted forelimb action on the morning after racing. Before being allowed to race again, GOLDEN OPPORTUNITY will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
