WIND KNIGHT blundered badly at the start and lost a considerable amount of ground. Approaching the 200 Metres, MAGIC KING was steadied to avoid the heels of CHEEKY LAD (G Mossé) which at this time was shifted in to obtain clear running. G Mossé was advised to ensure he is sufficiently clear when shifting ground in future. THAT`S IT got its head on the side and lay in over the concluding stages. When questioned regarding the disappointing performance of DASHING ACE, Apprentice K C Leung stated that he had been instructed to attempt to obtain a forward position on the horse and with cover if at all possible. He said he went forward as instructed and when SOLAR BOY was ridden to go forward underneath him, he attempted to steady DASHING ACE to see if it was possible to obtain a position behind that horse. He said however that this was not possible and for this reason DASHING ACE travelled one horse off the fence outside the leader, SOLAR BOY. He said DASHING ACE came under pressure rounding the Home Turn and was disappointing in the manner in which it failed to finish off the race. A veterinary inspection of DASHING ACE after the race did not show any significant findings. THAT`S IT, SOLAR BOY and CHEEKY LAD were sent for sampling.
