AIPODER IMAGE, which was fractious in the barriers, was slow to begin and shortly after the start was crowded for room between WINNING PAL and MASTER DRAGON which shifted out. After this, AIPODER IMAGE was taken across behind runners. SONOFTHEWEST began awkwardly, resulting in its rider, N Callan, becoming unbalanced in the saddle. After beginning awkwardly, SONOFTHEWEST shifted out and bumped WESTERN STAR. GREAT SHOW began awkwardly. In the middle stages, MARS EXPRESS proved difficult to settle. Rounding the Home Turn, HEALTHY MANNER was steadied away from the heels of MASTER DRAGON. Near the 300 Metres, HEALTHY MANNER was bumped by GREEN GLORY which at this time was taken in by WINNING PAL (O Doleuze) which got its head on the side and shifted in. O Doleuze was reprimanded and advised that in similar circumstances he would be expected to stop riding and make every endeavour to straighten his mounts. Throughout the race, GREEN GLORY travelled wide and without cover. A veterinary inspection of GREAT SHOW after the race did not show any significant findings. WINNING PAL and HEALTHY MANNER were sent for sampling.
