Steward Report Predict Pace Map
MAGIC TEMPLE was withdrawn on raceday morning by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (got loose and galloped riderless during track work). MORE LUCKY was also withdrawn on raceday morning by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (swollen right fore fetlock joint). Before being allowed to race again, MAGIC TEMPLE and MORE LUCKY will both be subjected to an official veterinary examination. BEAUTY SUCCESS was slow to begin and then shortly after the start raced in restricted room between MACHO EXPRESSO and PRECISION MAGIC which got its head on the side and shifted out. HEALTHY BLUEBERRY began awkwardly and then took some time to muster speed. From the outside barrier, BUCCANEER was taken across behind runners shortly after the start. Making the turn near the 700 Metres, SUISSE D’OR, which was racing tight between BUCCANEER and ALWAYS WELL, was checked when reluctant to hold its position between those horses. PRECISION MAGIC, which was following, was checked away from the heels of SUISSE D’OR as a consequence. In this incident, BEAUTY SUCCESS, which was racing inside PRECISION MAGIC, was momentarily crowded for room when that horse was checked away from the heels of SUISSE D’OR. Near the 250 Metres, STRAWBERRY was bumped on a number of occasions and taken wider by BUCCANEER (Apprentice K C Leung) which, when attempting a tight run between that horse and SUPER CAGA, was taken wider by SUPER CAGA which shifted out under pressure. Apprentice Leung was reprimanded and advised that whilst there was a shift from SUPER CAGA which had a bearing on the incident, he must ensure that there is sufficient room when attempting runs between horses. After the 200 Metres, BEAUTY SUCCESS was shifted to the inside of BUCCANEER and SUPER CAGA to obtain clear running after initially being held up behind those horses. For the majority of the race, ALWAYS WELL travelled wide and without cover and in the Straight gave ground. When questioned, B Doyle stated that entering the Back Straight MACHO EXPRESSO was not able to obtain a position closer to the back of SUPER CAGA. He said because of this MACHO EXPRESSO was facing the kickback and as he was of the view that the horse was resenting the kickback, he shifted it slightly to the outside of SUPER CAGA. A veterinary inspection of ALWAYS WELL and MACHO EXPRESSO after the race did not show any significant findings. SUISSE D’OR, BUCCANEER and BEAUTY SUCCESS were sent for sampling. <14/4/2011 Additional Veterinary Report>MACHO EXPRESSO, which performed poorly, was examined by the Head of Veterinary Regulation and International Liaison. He said at that time there were no significant findings. MACHO EXPRESSO was again examined by the Veterinary Officer at the stables of Trainer D J Hall this morning. He said at this time he noted the horse to be lame in its right front leg. Before being allowed to race again, MACHO EXPRESSO will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
