Steward Report Predict Pace Map
VICTORY MASCOT began awkwardly and lost ground. I SMELL MONEY shifted out at the start and bumped OWNERS’ GLORY. At the 400 Metres, TOM’S EIGHTH, which was giving ground, was checked away from the heels of NEEDLES AND THREAD (B Doyle) which shifted to the outside of ARION OF CHIU TON. B Doyle was reprimanded and advised to ensure that he is sufficiently clear when shifting ground in future. Throughout the race, ENHANCED travelled wide and without cover. Mr D J Hall, the trainer of JUN HUA, explained that, from barrier 10, he instructed the rider of JUN HUA, which was having its first race start on the All Weather Track surface today, to ride the horse quietly in the early stages. He said he felt that there was sufficient speed in the race which may have made it difficult for JUN HUA to overcome barrier 10 which could have resulted in the horse travelling wide. He said for this reason he felt that it would be in JUN HUA’s best interests for the horse to be ridden quietly in the early stages so as to obtain a position close to the rail. FORTUNE WINNER, ST DIDAR and I SMELL MONEY were sent for sampling.
