SUPER FRESH shifted out at the start, resulting in CHARITY JOY, AMEDEO and CROESUS all being hampered. DIAMOND ELEGANCE was crowded for room at the start between SKY FAR and PRECISION KING (Y T Cheng) which was taken in by BEAUTY SPARKLE. Shortly after this, PRECISION KING got its head on the side and shifted in despite the efforts of its rider, resulting in DIAMOND ELEGANCE being checked when crowded onto SKY FAR. Y T Cheng reported that in this incident, his saddle shifted back and to the left. NOBODY BUT YOU was slow to begin. Passing the 900 Metres, NOBODY BUT YOU was awkwardly placed inside the heels of SKY FAR which got its head on the side and shifted in slightly. Rounding the Home Turn, CHARITY JOY was awkwardly placed close to the heels of PRECISION KING and near the 250 Metres was shifted out away from the heels of that horse. Approaching the 150 Metres, SKY FAR got its head on the side and shifted out abruptly. Then over the concluding stages, SKY FAR shifted in abruptly under pressure. Passing the 150 Metres, BEAUTY SPARKLE was shifted out away from the heels of BUNDLE OF JOY which shifted out. For the majority of the race, MERIDIAN TREASURE travelled wide and without cover. When questioned, C Y Ho stated that as AMEDEO was resuming from a break, he had been asked to ride the horse with cover in about midfield if possible. He said it was felt that being first up since early February, AMEDEO would not be able to finish off the race were it to be ridden for speed tonight from barrier 10. He said AMEDEO did not handle the track conditions at any stage and rounding the Home Turn became unbalanced in its action. After the race, Y T Cheng expressed concern over PRECISION KING’s action. A veterinary inspection of PRECISION KING immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. BUNDLE OF JOY and BEAUTY SPARKLE were sent for sampling. <9/5/2013 Additional Veterinary Report>The Clinical Veterinary Surgeon reported that FUN ‘N’ GAMES was found to be lame in its left front leg on the morning after racing. Before being allowed to race again, FUN ‘N’ GAMES will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
