TIANHUANG began only fairly and then shortly after the start was crowded for room between SUN TOUCH and NOBLE ALPHA which was taken out by TIMELY ARRIVED. After this, despite being aggressively ridden, TIANHUANG failed to show any early speed and became detached from the field for the majority of the race. The performance of TIANHUANG was considered unacceptable. Before being allowed to race again, TIANHUANG will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination. Approaching the 900 Metres, DEJA VU was bumped by SUN TOUCH which got its head on the side and shifted in away from TEAM FORTUNE. Shortly after entering the Straight, SKYROCKETS was awkwardly placed between BEAUTY CONNECTION and DEJA VU when attempting to improve into tight running between those horses. Close to the finishing line, SKYROCKETS was shifted out away from the heels of DEJA VU. When questioned regarding his riding of SUN TOUCH in the early part of the Straight, T H So stated that after having to be ridden along for a considerable distance in the early stages, his mount, which was left racing wide and without cover from the 600 Metres, commenced to lay in at the entrance to the Straight. He said at the same time BEAUTY CONNECTION shifted out to his inside which obliged him to immediately stop riding his mount and shift SUN TOUCH out to avoid the heels of BEAUTY CONNECTION. He added after this he was able to place the horse under full pressure for the remainder of the race. T H So was advised that his explanation would be reported, however, he should ensure that, wherever possible, he is able to ride his mounts out to the best of his ability. When questioned regarding the disappointing performance of BEAUTY CONNECTION, J Moreira stated that after obtaining a forward position in the early stages, he allowed TEAM FORTUNE to cross BEAUTY CONNECTION at the 600 Metres to provide his mount with cover. He said when this happened BEAUTY CONNECTION appeared to resent the kickback and came off the bridle which prompted him to immediately shift BEAUTY CONNECTION to the outside of TEAM FORTUNE. He said however that, despite being shifted out into clear running, BEAUTY CONNECTION was very disappointing in its failure to finish off the race. A veterinary inspection of BEAUTY CONNECTION immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. A veterinary inspection of TIANHUANG and LANSBURY immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. BEAUTY CONNECTION, TEAM FORTUNE and HARBOUR ALERT were sent for sampling. <26/9/2016 Additional Veterinary Report>TIANHUANG, which performed poorly, was examined by the Veterinary Officer who said at that time there were no significant findings. TIANHUANG was again examined by the Veterinary Officer at the stables of Trainer J Moore this morning. He said at this time he noted the horse to be lame in its right hind leg. As previously advised, TIANHUANG will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination before being allowed to race again.
