WILD BOY was slow to begin and shortly after the start was shifted across behind runners from a wide barrier. Also from a wide barrier, SMART SALUTE was shifted across behind runners in the early stages. RICHCITY FORTUNE began awkwardly and shortly after the start was steadied away from the heels of SECRET AGENT after being taken in by YO-YO DA which in turn was taken in by FOREVER POSH. In this incident, YO-YO DA was also steadied away from the heels of FOREVER POSH (D Whyte) which was then straightened by its rider. D Whyte was advised to exercise more care in similar circumstances. EMPIRE OF MONGOLIA shifted in shortly after the start and bumped MODERN FORTUNE. When being ridden along to obtain a forward position, FUNNY BUDDIES got its head on the side and lay in approaching and making the turn after the 1100 Metres. FUNNY BUDDIES subsequently travelled wide and without cover for the majority of the race. After the 900 Metres, FOREVER POSH travelled keenly and was awkwardly placed close to the heels of HIGH VOLATILITY. Close to the finishing line, FOREVER POSH was steadied away from the heels of WILD BOY (J Moreira) which shifted in. J Moreira was advised to exercise more care. A veterinary inspection of FUNNY BUDDIES immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. HIGH VOLATILITY and WILD BOY were sent for sampling.
