BEST TANGO shifted out at the start, resulting in YOU HAVE MY WORD being crowded for room out onto the hindquarters of LIGHTNING AND GOLD. SPARKLING SWORD shifted out at the start on jumping, resulting in MIDNITE PROMISE being crowded for room. SPINNING DANCER got its head up shortly after the start when being steadied to obtain a position with cover. From wide barriers, MONEY MAN and DIGITAL PIONEER were steadied in the early stages and shifted across behind runners. Passing the winning post on the first occasion, LIGHTNING AND GOLD was steadied to avoid the heels of MIDNITE PROMISE which was racing tight inside PEARL WIN. After this, MIDNITE PROMISE raced tight inside PEARL WIN which lay in away from THANKSGIVING. PEARL WIN then travelled wide and without cover throughout the race. For some distance after the 1300 Metres, SPARKLING SWORD travelled keenly and proved difficult to settle in the lead. Passing the 600 Metres, THANKSGIVING commenced to give ground abruptly, resulting in MIDNITE PROMISE being awkwardly placed close to the heels of that horse before being able to shift out away from behind THANKSGIVING after the 500 Metres. THANKSGIVING continued to give ground abruptly, resulting in SPINNING DANCER being severely checked passing the 400 Metres. A veterinary inspection of THANKSGIVING immediately following the race revealed that the horse was displaying an irregular heart rhythm. Before being allowed to race again, THANKSGIVING will be required to perform satisfactorily in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination. A veterinary inspection of YOU HAVE MY WORD immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. The performance of YOU HAVE MY WORD, which finished tailed out, was considered unacceptable. Before being allowed to race again, YOU HAVE MY WORD will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination. A veterinary inspection of SPINNING DANCER immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. NEWSWIRE FREE and SPARKLING SWORD were sent for sampling. <27/10/2016 Additional Veterinary Report>THANKSGIVING, which performed poorly, was examined by the Veterinary Officer who said at that time the horse was displaying an irregular heart rhythm. THANKSGIVING was again examined by the Veterinary Officer at the stables of Trainer D Cruz this morning. He said at this time he noted the horse to be lame in its left front leg. As previously advised, THANKSGIVING will be required to perform satisfactorily in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination before being allowed to race again.
