During the preliminary, JE PENSE was kicked by PEARL WARM WARM. JE PENSE was examined by the Veterinary Officer who said that the horse had sustained a cut to the inside of the left front cannon and accordingly was not suitable to race. Acting on this advice, the Stewards ordered the withdrawal of JE PENSE. Before being allowed to race again, JE PENSE will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. THE SYLPH began awkwardly and got its head up on jumping. BEAUTY PRINCE began only fairly. When being steadied to allow MASTER CERAMIBO to cross approaching the 1300 Metres, SUPER FLUKE got its head on the side and lay in, resulting in WUSHU CHAMPION being crowded for room. BEAUTY LOVE, which was racing to the outside of SUPER FLUKE, proved difficult to settle, got its head on the side and shifted in abruptly away from INDUSTRIALIST WAY, resulting in BEAUTY LOVE being severely checked away from the heels of SUPER FLUKE. This resulted in VARA PEARL being badly crowded for room and then being severely checked between BEAUTY LOVE and HAPPY PLACE. When VARA PEARL was checked, it shifted out abruptly, causing BEAUTY PRINCE, which was following, to be badly hampered and taken wider. As the Stewards were of the opinion that the racing manners of BEAUTY LOVE had caused this incident, no further action was taken. Near the 1000 Metres, BEAUTY LOVE got its head on the side, shifted out and was checked after racing tight to the inside of INDUSTRIALIST WAY (O Bosson) which shifted in marginally. Having regard to the racing manners of BEAUTY LOVE prior, during and after this incident, O Bosson was afforded the benefit of the doubt, however, he was advised to ensure that he leaves comfortable racing room for runners to his inside at all times. For some distance approaching and passing the 900 Metres, BEAUTY LOVE proved very difficult to settle and shifted ground on a number of occasions when being checked to avoid the heels of INDUSTRIALIST WAY. THE SYLPH, which was following, was hampered in consequence. BEAUTY LOVE got its head on the side and lay out making the turn near the 600 Metres. The racing manners of BEAUTY LOVE were considered unacceptable. Before being allowed to race again, BEAUTY LOVE will be required to perform satisfactorily in a barrier trial around a bend. Shortly after entering the Straight, HAPPY PLACE was shifted in away from the heels of CARE FREE PRINCE to obtain clear running. For some distance after the 200 Metres, BEAUTY LOVE had some difficulty obtaining clear running outside INDUSTRIALIST WAY. Passing the 150 Metres, HAPPY PLACE raced tight inside CARE FREE PRINCE which shifted in under pressure. A veterinary inspection of WUSHU CHAMPION and BEAUTY LOVE immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. SUPER FLUKE and PEARL WARM WARM were sent for sampling.
