FRANCE VALOUR was withdrawn on 29.10.16 by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (lame right fore foot abscess) and was replaced by Standby Declared Starter HOLY STAR (Apprentice H N Wong). Before being allowed to race again, FRANCE VALOUR will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. SWEET BEAN was slow to begin. Shortly after the start, ISLAND FLYER was bumped by GLAMOROUS RYDER which shifted out. From the outside barrier, BEST JADE TRIUMPH was steadied in the early stages and shifted across behind runners. For some distance approaching the winning post on the first occasion, MI SAVVY BOY raced tight inside ISLAND FLYER which improved into tight running inside HOLY STAR. Passing the 1100 Metres, ISLAND FLYER was left racing wide and without cover. For some distance approaching and passing the 800 Metres, HIGH SPEED METRO travelled keenly and was awkwardly placed close to the heels of SWEET BEAN. MY FOLKS commenced to give ground from the 500 Metres and finished tailed out. A veterinary inspection of MY FOLKS immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. The performance of MY FOLKS was considered unacceptable. Before being allowed to race again, MY FOLKS will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination. Passing the 300 Metres, HOLY STAR was awkwardly placed outside the heels of RACINGFORPLEASURE. Near the 150 Metres, HIGH SPEED METRO was shifted to the outside of CHOICE EXCHEQUER to obtain clear running. Passing the 150 Metres, ISLAND FLYER was inconvenienced when racing outside the heels of MALAYAN PEARL which shifted out under pressure. Approaching the 100 Metres, MI SAVVY BOY was shifted out away from the heels of RACINGFORPLEASURE. A veterinary inspection of GLAMOROUS RYDER immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. SWEET BEAN and HIGH SPEED METRO were sent for sampling.
