Shortly after the start, GRACEFUL KINGDOM shifted out and bumped GO-GETTER. From the outside barrier, GREAT TOPLIGHT was steadied in the early stages and shifted across behind runners. Despite being ridden along in the early stages, WORKS OF ART failed to muster speed. When being steadied approaching the winning post on the first occasion, BOSSIEE commenced to prove difficult to settle and then got its head up when steadied away from the heels of PENNY LANE (P Smullen) which shifted in when not properly clear. P Smullen was severely reprimanded and advised to ensure that he is sufficiently clear when shifting ground. Passing the 400 Metres, WIN IT dipped when being shifted away from the heels of AEROLUMINANCE which was commencing to give ground. Near the 350 Metres, KIRAM blundered badly after striking the heels of PENNY LANE. Approaching the 300 Metres and again near the 250 Metres, WIN IT and MIDNITE PROMISE bumped. Passing the 250 Metres, AEROLUMINANCE, which was continuing to give ground, was bumped by GRACEFUL KINGDOM. The performance of AEROLUMINANCE, which finished tailed out, was considered unacceptable. Before being allowed to race again, AEROLUMINANCE will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination. WORKS OF ART, MUTUAL JOY and KIRAM were sent for sampling.
