LOTUS STRIKES BACK was withdrawn on 2.1.17 by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (swollen right front fetlock) and was replaced by Standby Declared Starter VANILLA. Before being allowed to race again, LOTUS STRIKES BACK will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. FULL GLORY got its head up on jumping when being steadied in an attempt to obtain a position with cover. CLOUD NINE shifted out on jumping and bumped INDUSTRIALIST WAY. Shortly after the start, PREMIUM CHAMPION was steadied away from the heels of EASY HEDGE which was taken out by THE SHOW which shifted out abruptly on jumping. After the 1100 Metres, THE SHOW was awkwardly placed close to the heels of SUNNY WIN. Near the 1000 Metres, EASY HEDGE and INDUSTRIALIST WAY raced tight as EASY HEDGE shifted out and INDUSTRIALIST WAY was ridded along in an endeavour to prevent EASY HEDGE from shifting ground. After the 1000 Metres, when EASY HEDGE was able to shift out, INDUSTRIALIST WAY was steadied to obtain a trailing position behind that horse. IMPERIAL GALLANTRY, which was following INDUSTRIALIST WAY, was shifted out away from the heels of that horse and consequently raced wide and without cover. Passing the 300 Metres, INDUSTRIALIST WAY was steadied away from the heels of VANILLA which shifted out. A veterinary inspection of IMPERIAL GALLANTRY and JE PENSE immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. EASY HEDGE and ANDOYAS were sent for sampling.
