7 GLORIOUS PARTNERS T H So D J Hall 1 121 69 --

Steward Report Predict Pace Map
When proceeding to the track, GLORIOUS PARTNERS became fractious, reared and flipped over, resulting in its rider, T H So, being dislodged and the horse hitting its head on the ground. GLORIOUS PARTNERS was examined by the Veterinary Officer who said in his opinion it was not suitable to race. Acting on this advice, GLORIOUS PARTNERS was withdrawn by order of the Stewards. GLORIOUS PARTNERS will be required to undergo a satisfactory parade test prior to its next race start and be subjected to an official veterinary examination. When proceeding to the barriers, BEAT THE CLOCK slipped over, resulting in J Moreira being dislodged. BEAT THE CLOCK was examined by the Veterinary Officer who said that after the necessary consultations BEAT THE CLOCK was suitable to race. J Moreira was also examined by the Club’s medical officers and passed fit to fulfil his race riding engagement on BEAT THE CLOCK. ROYAL PERFORMER and CELESTIAL ARROW were slow to begin. Shortly after the start, BEAT THE CLOCK was checked when crowded for room between DELIGHT EXPRESS which, after shifting in, was then straightened by its rider and ENERGETIC CLASS (S de Sousa) which shifted in. Whilst the Stewards acknowledged that S de Sousa had made some effort to relieve the tightening to BEAT THE CLOCK, and that DELIGHT EXPRESS had some bearing on the matter, nonetheless S dc Sousa was severely reprimanded and advised that, in the opinion of the Stewards, he should have made a greater effort than he did on this occasion to prevent his mount from shifting in. Near the 1250 Metres, DELIGHT EXPRESS got its head up on a number of occasions when proving very difficult to settle whilst awkwardly placed close to the heels of ENERGETIC CLASS. After the 1100 Metres, LUCKY GUY travelled keenly and got its head up on a number of occasions when proving difficult to settle. Making the turn near the 900 Metres, CELESTIAL ARROW commenced to prove very difficult to settle and got its head up on a number of occasions when being checked away from the heels of ROUNDABOUT. In this incident, CELESTIAL ARROW shifted in, resulting in PROUD SKY being momentarily crowded for room. LUCKY GUY, which was following and continuing to prove difficult to settle, was checked away from the heels of CELESTIAL ARROW in consequence. Near the 900 Metres, BEAT THE CLOCK was left racing wide and without cover. Passing the 900 Metres, ROYAL PERFORMER was crowded for room inside ROUNDABOUT which was taken in by TOP SCORE (N Rawiller). TOP SCORE was then shifted out to relieve the tightening to ROUNDABOUT and ROYAL PERFORMER and after this travelled wide and without cover. N Rawiller was reprimanded and advised to exercise more care when shifting ground in similar circumstances. Approaching the 700 Metres, LUCKY GUY raced in restricted room between PROUD SKY and KA YING KID after improving into tight running between those horses. Rounding the Home Turn, TOP SCORE was crowded for room between BEAT THE CLOCK which was improving around that horse and ROUNDABOUT (B Prebble) which shifted to the outside of THE JAZZ. B Prebble was severely reprimanded and advised to ensure that he is properly clear of other runners when shifting ground. N Rawiller stated that after this TOP SCORE did not feel comfortable in its action in front. He said he placed the horse under pressure in the Straight, however, after TOP SCORE did not stretch out as he expected, he eased it down over the concluding stages. A veterinary inspection of TOP SCORE immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. Before being allowed to race again, TOP SCORE will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. DARING FIT and BEAT THE CLOCK were sent for sampling.
