NOBLE BUDDIES began awkwardly and then shortly after the start was crowded for room between FAIR COMMENT which shifted out and FORTUNE BROTHERS which was taken in by EMPIRE OF MONGOLIA. MASSIVE MOVE and EMPEROR VICTORY bumped at the start. Approaching the 800 Metres, NOBLE BUDDIES was awkwardly placed close to the heels of EMPIRE OF MONGOLIA. After being crossed by GOLDEN CANNON passing the 700 Metres, EMPIRE OF MONGOLIA got its head on the side and lay out. Making the turn near the 650 Metres, FRIENDS FOREVER lay out, resulting in EMPEROR VICTORY being taken wider. Near the 250 Metres, FANTASTICLIFE shifted out and bumped GOLDEN CANNON. Over the concluding stages, NOBLE BUDDIES, which was finishing off the race well, was steadied when improving inside FRIENDS FOREVER (C Murray) which shifted in. C Murray was reprimanded and advised to ensure that he is aware of the circumstances around him and to make every endeavour to keep his mounts on a straight course. For the majority of the race, EMPEROR VICTORY travelled wide and without cover. The performance of FAIR COMMENT, which finished tailed out, was considered unacceptable. Before being allowed to race again, FAIR COMMENT will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination. After the race, J Moreira reported that after being placed in a good position behind the speed, FORTUNE BROTHERS came under heavy pressure after the 500 Metres and then weakened noticeably in the Home Straight. A veterinary inspection of FORTUNE BROTHERS immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. The performance of FORTUNE BROTHERS, which finished tailed out, was considered unacceptable. Before being allowed to race again, FORTUNE BROTHERS will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination. A veterinary inspection of EMPEROR VICTORY immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. ACTUARIAT, MASSIVE MOVE and SNOWHOOVES were sent for sampling.
