TRAVEL EMPEROR began awkwardly and then despite being ridden along in the early stages failed to muster speed. Shortly after the start, DOUBLE VALENTINE shifted out and bumped AMAZING, causing both horses to become unbalanced. From wide barriers, AMAZING, STARLIGHT and HARRIER JET were all shifted across behind runners in the early stages. Near the 1150 Metres, BEST STEP and I’M THE CONQUIST bumped. Passing the 1000 Metres, TRAVEL EMPEROR raced tight inside the heels of FAST MOST FURIOUS. Passing the 400 Metres, I’M THE CONQUIST (M Chadwick) raced very close to the heels of BEST STEP when being shifted to the outside of that horse. M Chadwick was advised to ensure that he does not allow his mounts to race too close to the heels of other runners. DOUBLE VALENTINE made the Home Turn awkwardly. For the majority of the race, AMAZING travelled wide and without cover. After the race, Apprentice H N Wong (PRINCE HARMONY) stated that his mount shortened stride noticeably rounding the Home Turn and in the Straight and, in his opinion, was not comfortable in its action. A veterinary inspection of PRINCE HARMONY immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. Before being allowed to race again, PRINCE HARMONY will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. A veterinary inspection of AMAZING and SPRING WIN immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. FAST MOST FURIOUS and DOUBLE VALENTINE were sent for sampling.
