SAM’S LOVE was withdrawn on 24.4.18 by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (lame left fore) and was replaced by Standby Declared Starter ADONIS. Before being allowed to race again, SAM’S LOVE will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. After being placed in the barriers, BINGO became fractious and got its head down, resulting in B Prebble, the rider of that horse, having to dismount. Before being allowed to race again, BINGO will be required to perform satisfactorily in a stalls test. Also after being loaded into the barriers, MAGIC SUCCESS became very fractious and reared on a number of occasions, resulting in C Schofield, the rider of that horse, having to dismount on two occasions. Before being allowed to race again, MAGIC SUCCESS will be required to perform satisfactorily in a barrier trial. BINGO shifted out at the start and bumped LUCKY LUCKY. TOP SCORE and MY BEAR CAT bumped at the start. From wide barriers, CHEER WIN, VICTORY MARCH, DIAMOND LEGEND and MAGIC SUCCESS were all shifted across behind runners in the early stages. Making the turn near the 1050 Metres, MY BEAR CAT and TOP SCORE bumped as MY BEAR CAT improved to be racing inside the heels of ADONIS. Making the turn near the 950 Metres, CHEER WIN got its head up when being steadied away from the heels of DIAMOND LEGEND. After the 900 Metres, LIGHTNING MISSILE was left racing wide and without cover. VICTORY MARCH lost its left front plate at the 850 Metres. Passing the 200 Metres, MAGIC SUCCESS was awkwardly placed inside the heels of CHEER WIN which shifted in. At the 100 Metres, ADONIS was brushed by TOP SCORE which shifted out to obtain clear running. When racing tight over the final 50 Metres, both A Sanna (LUCKY LUCKY) and B Prebble (BINGO) were unable to fully use their whip. Then close to the finishing line, BINGO shifted in and brushed LUCKY LUCKY as both horses continued to race tight. Close to the finishing line, JOLLY BOUNTIFUL was steadied away from the heels of LUCKY LUCKY and consequently was not able to be ridden out all the way to the end of the race. TOP SCORE and LEISURED FEET were sent for sampling.
