After being loaded into the barriers, PRESIDENTPARAMOUNT became very fractious and kicked out on a number of occasions. PRESIDENTPARAMOUNT was removed from the barriers and examined by the Veterinary Officer who said in his opinion it was suitable to race. Before being allowed to race again, PRESIDENTPARAMOUNT will be required to perform satisfactorily in a stalls test. STRATHSPEY began awkwardly, resulting in its rider, T Berry, becoming unbalanced. After this, STRATHSPEY was shifted across behind runners in the early stages. PRESIDENTPARAMOUNT shifted out abruptly at the start despite the efforts of its rider, resulting in DESMIOS being crowded for room inside THE FULL BLOOM. PHOTON WILLIE and SEA PEARL began awkwardly. From the outside barrier, RED ELYSEES was shifted across behind runners in the early stages. Approaching the 1300 Metres, MONEY WINNER raced tight inside PHOTON WILLIE which improved to be racing tight inside INDIGENOUS STAR. INDIGENOUS STAR was then shifted out to relieve the tightening to PHOTON WILLIE and MONEY WINNER and when being shifted out inconvenienced THE FULL BLOOM. Passing the 1100 Metres, THE SYLPH got its head up when awkwardly placed behind ENJOY LIFE. PRESIDENTPARAMOUNT travelled keenly approaching and passing the 1000 Metres. Rounding the Home Turn, RED ELYSEES was taken wider by PRESIDENTPARAMOUNT which shifted out to obtain clear running. DESMIOS lost its right front plate at the entrance to the Straight. DESMIOS had some difficulty obtaining clear running in the early part of the Straight. Passing the 250 Metres, MONEY WINNER was shifted to the outside of PHOTON WILLIE to obtain clear running. Near the 200 Metres, ENDEARING got its head on the side and lay out under pressure. Passing the 200 Metres, S Clipperton (RED ELYSEES) dropped his right rein. Approaching and passing the 100 Metres, ENJOY LIFE shifted in under pressure. Throughout the race, ROYAL CHOCOLATE travelled wide and without cover. A veterinary inspection of RED ELYSEES and PRESIDENTPARAMOUNT immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. STRATHSPEY, DESMIOS and INDIGENOUS STAR were sent for sampling.
