CLEMENT LEGEND began awkwardly and lost ground. DUTCH WINDMILL shifted out at the start and bumped CELEBRATION which became unbalanced when crowded for room inside WONDERFUL CHASER which also became unbalanced after being bumped by CELEBRATION. From the outside barriers, SWEET BEAN and THE JOY OF GIVING were shifted across behind runners in the early stages. Approaching the winning post on the first occasion, CHIU CHOW KID got its head up when awkwardly placed behind SPINNING DANCER. Then passing the winning post on the first occasion, CHIU CHOW KID shifted out and inconvenienced CELEBRATION. Passing the 1300 Metres, CELEBRATION and CHIU CHOW KID raced tight as CHIU CHOW KID shifted out from behind SPINNING DANCER. After the 1100 Metres, SWEET BEAN was shifted out from behind CELEBRATION and allowed to improve its position. SWEET BEAN was then left racing wide and without cover outside the leaders from near the 800 Metres and consequently gave ground in the Straight. Near the 1000 Metres, CHIU CHOW KID got its head up when travelling close to the heels of TOP ACE. CELEBRATION, which was following, was steadied in consequence. After this, CHIU CHOW KID continued to be awkwardly placed behind TOP ACE until approaching the 900 Metres. Approaching the 600 Metres, WONDERFUL CHASER raced tight inside CHIU CHOW KID which shifted in to improve inside SWEET BEAN. Passing the 500 Metres, DUTCH WINDMILL raced close to the heels of WONDERFUL CHASER. Approaching and passing the 100 Metres, MEGA TREASURE lay out under pressure. A veterinary inspection of SWEET BEAN and CELEBRATION immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. TOP ACE, AMAZING GOLD and CHIU CHOW KID were sent for sampling.
