GUERDON HELMET shifted out at the start and bumped HAPPY WARRIOR. Then a short distance after the start, HAPPY WARRIOR and GUERDON HELMET again bumped, resulting in GUERDON HELMET being taken in towards the heels of DIAMOND MASTER.
PEGASUS ELITE began awkwardly and then for a distance in the early stages got its head up.
TEST THE STARS and SUPER MODEL were crowded for room on jumping between NICE FANDANGO and KING’S HEROISM, both of which shifted ground. After this, TEST THE STARS raced tight between KING’S HEROISM and SUPER MODEL for some distance and NICE FANDANGO became unbalanced after being bumped on the hindquarters on two occasions by SUPER MODEL.
MULTIMILLION began awkwardly, shifted in and bumped OCEAN ELITE.
Over the final 400 Metres, MULTIMILLION got its head on the side and lay in.
Close to the finishing line, GUERDON HELMET was awkwardly placed behind LUNAR ZEPHYR and consequently was not ridden out all the way to the end of the race.
After the race, the Veterinary Officer reported that OCEAN ELITE had bled from both nostrils.
A veterinary inspection of SUPER MODEL immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. The performance of SUPER MODEL, which finished tailed out, was considered unacceptable. Before being allowed to race again, SUPER MODEL will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
DIAMOND MASTER and MULTIMILLION were sent for sampling.
