BEAUTY ENERGY was withdrawn on 22.11.18 by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (inappetence) and was replaced by first Standby Declared Starter FLAME LILY. BULLISH BROTHER was also withdrawn on 22.11.18 by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (head injury) and was replaced by second Standby Declared Starter OSCAR MAGIC. TOUCH OF LUCK was withdrawn on 23.11.18 by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (head injury). Before being allowed to race again, BEAUTY ENERGY, BULLISH BROTHER and TOUCH OF LUCK will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. EMPIRE STAR was slow to begin. KING’S HEROISM and TENNESSEE BOSS bumped at the start. GOLDEN FOUR shifted out on jumping and bumped BIG BULLY, causing both horse to become unbalanced. GOLDEN FOUR was then steadied away from the heels of CARE FREE PRINCE shortly after the start. TENNESSEE BOSS and FRIENDS OF NANJING were steadied in the early stages to obtain cover. When being ridden along from the outside barrier, BIG BULLY was shifted across behind runners to obtain cover. Approaching the 1200 Metres, FOLLOW ME raced tight outside FUN TIMES which shifted out. Approaching the 1100 Metres, KING’S HEROISM was steadied away from the heels of CARE FREE PRINCE (Apprentice C Wong) which shifted in when not properly clear. Apprentice Wong was severely reprimanded and again reminded of the obligation he has to ensure that he is fully clear when shifting ground. Near the 750 Metres, FRIENDS OF NANJING commenced to travel keenly and was steadied away from the heels of BIG BULLY which was awkwardly placed behind OSCAR MAGIC. Approaching the 700 Metres, GOLDEN FOUR and OSCAR MAGIC raced tight outside TENNESSEE BOSS which shifted to the outside of FLAME LILY. VITAL SPRING had some difficulty obtaining clear running in the early part of the Straight. Passing the 100 Metres, CARE FREE PRINCE and FUN TIMES bumped due to both horses shifting ground and consequently became unbalanced. Throughout the race, KING’S HEROISM travelled wide and without cover and in the Straight gave ground. The performance of KING’S HEROISM, which finished tailed out, was considered unacceptable. Before being allowed to race again, KING’S HEROISM will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination. When dismounting after the race, C Schofield’s right foot was stood on by GOLDEN FOUR. C Schofield was examined by the Racing Medical Officer and passed fit to fulfil his remaining race riding engagements. Also after the race, the Veterinary Officer reported that OSCAR MAGIC was displaying an irregular heart rhythm. Before being allowed to race again, OSCAR MAGIC will be required to perform satisfactorily in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination. A veterinary inspection of BIG BULLY immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. FOLLOW ME and GOLDEN FOUR were sent for sampling. <26/11/2018 Additional Veterinary Report>After the race, the Veterinary Officer reported that OSCAR MAGIC was displaying an irregular heart rhythm. OSCAR MAGIC was again examined by the Veterinary Officer at the stables of Trainer J Size this morning. He said at this time he noted the horse to be lame in its right front leg. As previously advised, OSCAR MAGIC will be required to perform satisfactorily in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination before being allowed to race again.
