LET US WIN was withdrawn on 1.12.18 by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (lame left fore). Before being allowed to race again, LET US WIN will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. REMARKABLE was crowded for room on jumping between NUCLEAR POWER and CHUNG WAH SPIRIT which shifted out. After this, REMARKABLE was shifted across behind runners to obtain cover. HANG’S DECISION began awkwardly. GREAT TREASURE and LAST KINGDOM bumped shortly after the start. After the 1400 Metres, MY POWER got its head on the side, lay out and raced tight inside LOCKHEED. Then after the 1200 Metres, MY POWER commenced to travel keenly and got its head up on a number of occasions. Approaching the 1100 Metres, GREEN CARD commenced to prove very difficult to settle and shifted out after being checked away from the heels of LOCKHEED. When GREEN CARD shifted out, NUCLEAR POWER improved its position to be racing inside that horse, forcing GREEN CARD to remain travelling wide and without cover. Passing the 1100 Metres, TANG FLEMING shifted in and bumped JOYFUL MOMENTS. Passing the 900 Metres, LAST KINGDOM commenced to travel keenly and shifted out away from the heels of GREEN CARD, resulting in the horse travelling wide and without cover when continuing to prove difficult to settle. Making the turn after the 700 Metres, HANG’S DECISION lay in and made contact with the running rail. As a result of this, Z Purton adjusted his right foot in the iron passing the 600 Metres. Passing the 600 Metres, GREAT TREASURE was awkwardly placed close to the heels of NUCLEAR POWER which lost ground when racing close to the heels of LOCKHEED. This resulted in GREAT TREASURE shifting out away from the heels of NUCLEAR POWER and bumping LAST KINGDOM. Over the final 200 Metres, NUCLEAR POWER lay in under pressure and proved difficult to ride. Passing the 150 Metres, HANG’S DECISION got its head on the side and lay out. When questioned regarding the disappointing performance of TANG FLEMING, Apprentice C Wong stated that he had to ride his mount aggressively in the early stages to take up a forward position as instructed. He said after being able to shift in to race outside the leader JOYFUL MOMENTS near the 1200 Metres, TANG FLEMING travelled too keenly and, despite his best attempts, he was not able to get the horse to relax. He said because of the manner in which TANG FLEMING raced in the early and middle stages, the horse was then not able to finish off its race. A veterinary inspection of TANG FLEMING immediately following the race did not show any significant findings, however, the horse was unable to be scoped due to being fractious. A veterinary inspection of LOCKHEED immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. HANG’S DECISION and NUCLEAR POWER were sent for sampling.
