TRIUMPHAL WIN was crowded for room on jumping between AMAZING GOLD and WONDERFUL TIGER which shifted out. SMART SALUTE (N Callan) began awkwardly and then despite being ridden along failed to muster speed. After the race, N Callan reported that SMART SALUTE did not stretch out at any stage of the race. A veterinary inspection of SMART SALUTE immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. Before being allowed to race again, SMART SALUTE will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. LE PEGASE began awkwardly and made heavy contact with SPINNING DANCER, causing both horses to become unbalanced. SPINNING DANCER then shifted in, resulting in LE PEGASE being taken in and causing HAPPY HAPPY to be crowded for room outside INDIGENOUS STAR. Then, despite being hard ridden in the early stages, LE PEGASE failed to muster speed. From the outside barriers, SO GENEROUS and CELEBRATION were shifted across behind runners in the early stages. For some distance approaching and passing the 1200 Metres, WONDERFUL TIGER travelled keenly and approaching the 1000 Metres got its head up when being steadied away from the heels of LUCKY STORM. After this, WONDERFUL TIGER continued to travel keenly. Making the turn after the 600 Metres, WONDERFUL TIGER lay in and brushed the running rail. At the entrance to the Straight, WONDERFUL TIGER was shifted in from behind LUCKY STORM to obtain clear running. After this, WONDERFUL TIGER lay in and proved difficult to ride as its rider corrected the horse. The whip of A Badel (TRIUMPHAL WIN) was knocked from his grasp by the whip of Apprentice C Wong (LUCKY STORM). Passing the finishing line, TRIUMPHAL WIN and FORTUNE PATROL were crowded for room between LUCKY STORM which shifted out marginally and SPINNING DANCER (C Y Ho) which shifted in. Apprentice Wong was advised to exercise more care in similar circumstances whilst C Y Ho was reprimanded and advised to ensure that he takes corrective measures at the earliest opportunity to prevent his mounts from shifting ground and causing interference to other runners. A veterinary inspection of AMAZING GOLD immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. INDIGENOUS STAR, SPINNING DANCER and LUCKY STORM were sent for sampling.
