PRINCIPAL DATUM was slow to begin. GLITTERING ARMOUR began only fairly. HAVE FUN TOGETHER shifted in at the start and bumped EZRA. After this, HAVE FUN TOGETHER was initially steadied to obtain cover but subsequently, despite being ridden along, failed to muster speed. From a wide barrier, HAPPY HOUR was steadied in the early stages and shifted across behind runners. Near the 1000 Metres, GUERDON HELMET was steadied away from the heels of LIGHTNING TREASURE (N Callan) which shifted in when not properly clear. When GUERDON HELMET was steadied away from the heels of LIGHTNING TREASURE, that horse shifted out and bumped INTREPIC. EZRA, which was following INTREPIC, was hampered in consequence. N Callan was severely reprimanded and told to ensure that he is properly clear when shifting ground in similar circumstances. For some distance approaching the 1000 Metres, GLITTERING ARMOUR travelled keenly and got its head up when being checked away from the heels of BLACK TECH which was being steadied to obtain cover behind INVINCIBLE MISSILE. Then passing the 1000 Metres, GLITTERING ARMOUR shifted away from the heels of BLACK TECH when continuing to prove very difficult to settle and bumped FAMILY LEADER, causing that horse to become badly unbalanced and crowded for room inside EZRA which was shifted out by its rider to alleviate the tightening to FAMILY LEADER. After this, GLITTERING ARMOUR continued to travel keenly. INTREPIC lost its left hind plate passing the 900 Metres. Approaching the 100 Metres, FAMILY LEADER was awkwardly placed outside INTREPIC which shifted out marginally under pressure. Passing the 100 Metres, EZRA shifted out and bumped HAPPY HOUR. After racing tight for some distance, HAPPY HOUR was bumped close to the finishing line by EZRA which got its head on the side and shifted out away from GLITTERING ARMOUR which shifted out under pressure. Throughout the race, EZRA travelled wide and without cover. After the race, it was noted that GLITTERING ARMOUR had bled from both nostrils. A veterinary inspection of HAVE FUN TOGETHER immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. GLITTERING ARMOUR, INVINCIBLE MISSILE and TOM’S DRAGON were sent for sampling.
