SUN FOXHUNTER was crowded for room on jumping inside WINNING SUPREME which shifted in. From a wide barrier, MAJESTIC ENDEAVOUR was shifted across behind runners in the early stages. Despite being ridden along for a considerable distance in the early stages, SAM’S LOVE was slow to muster speed and then near the 700 Metres was left racing wide and without cover. Near the 850 Metres, MAJESTIC ENDEAVOUR was awkwardly placed behind MONEYMORE. Near the 800 Metres, FLYING GODSPELL and FAME AND FORTUNE raced tight, causing both horses to become unbalanced. Making the turn after the 700 Metres, MONEYMORE got its head on the side and lay out. MAJESTIC ENDEAVOUR, which was following, was awkwardly placed behind that horse in consequence. At the 400 Metres, SAM’S LOVE was struck across the nose by the whip of J Moreira (NICE KICK). HEARTS KEEPER was badly held up for clear running from approaching the 250 Metres until near the 150 Metres. After the race, Apprentice H T Mo stated that after beginning only fairly, he had to ride FLYING GODSPELL along for some distance in the early stages to maintain its positon between MONEYMORE and FAME AND FORTUNE which both shifted ground shortly after the start. He said he continued to ride FLYING GODSPEED along for some distance, however, the horse did not show the same speed as WINNING SUPREME which was drawn wider. He said after being crossed by that horse after the 900 Metres, FLYING GODSPELL appeared to resent the kickback as it did not travel well at any stage after this. A veterinary inspection of FLYING GODSPELL immediately following the race revealed that the horse was displaying an irregular heart rhythm. Before being allowed to race again, FLYING GODSPELL will be required to perform satisfactorily in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination. NICE KICK, WINNING SUPREME and HEARTS KEEPER were sent for sampling. <20/12/2018 Additional Veterinary Report>The Veterinary Officer reported SAM’S LOVE was lame in its left front leg on the morning after racing. Before being allowed to race again, SAM’S LOVE will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. The Veterinary Surgeon reported FAME AND FORTUNE was lame in its right front leg on the morning after racing. Before being allowed to race again, FAME AND FORTUNE will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
