I’M THE CONQUIST began awkwardly. LETSGOFREE lost ground on jumping when crowded for room between EXCEPTIONAL DESIRE and JOLLY BOUNTIFUL which shifted out. From a wide barrier, CHAPARRAL STAR was steadied in the early stages and shifted across behind runners. Despite being ridden along for some distance in the early stages, PAKISTAN BABY failed to muster speed and passing the 1100 Metres was shifted across behind runners to obtain cover. Passing the 1150 Metres, I’M THE CONQUIST was awkwardly placed outside the heels of GENERAL IRON. JOLLY BOUNTIFUL lost its right front plate at the 300 Metres. Near the 150 Metres, CHAPARRAL STAR raced tight inside JOLLY BOUNTIFUL which was shifted to the inside of SKY TREASURE to continue improving. Over the final 150 Metres, STAR SUPERIOR (Apprentice H T Mo) shifted out under pressure. Apprentice Mo was advised that in the circumstances he should have stopped riding and straightened his mount rather than continuing to ride the horse out and allowing it to shift out a number of horses. Passing the 100 Metres, I’M THE CONQUIST was brushed by LETSGOFREE which shifted out to improve into tight running between I’M THE CONQUIST and GENERAL IRON. Near the 50 Metres, HAPPY COOPERATION raced tight inside the hindquarters of EXCEPTIONAL DESIRE. Close to the finishing line, CHAPARRAL STAR and JOLLY BOUNTIFUL bumped as a result of JOLLY BOUNTIFUL initially shifting in and then CHAPARRAL STAR shifting out when awkwardly placed behind EXCEPTIONAL DESIRE. This resulted in JOLLY BOUNTIFUL racing tight between CHAPARRAL STAR and SKY TREASURE close to the finishing line and Z Purton having to stop riding and straighten CHAPARRAL STAR. For the majority of the race, TRUST ME travelled wide and without cover. A veterinary inspection of JOLLY BOUNTIFUL and LETSGOFREE immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. JOLLY BOUNTIFUL, EXCEPTIONAL DESIRE and HAPPY COOPERATION were sent for sampling. <31/1/2019 Additional Veterinary Report>JOLLY BOUNTIFUL was examined by the Veterinary Officer who said at that time there were no significant findings. JOLLY BOUNTIFUL was again examined by the Veterinary Officer at the stables of Trainer J Size this morning. He said at this time he noted the horse to have a stiff and restricted action and to be sore in both front fetlocks. Before being allowed to race again, JOLLY BOUNTIFUL will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
