MR LUMIERES was withdrawn on 29.1.19 by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (lame left fore). Before being allowed to race again, MR LUMIERES will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
FORTUNE BOOTH began only fairly.
From the outside barrier, SEVEN HEAVENS was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
Making the turn near the 1000 Metres, BIG TIME BABY raced tight between KEEP MOVING and FANTASTIC FEELING which was awkwardly placed inside the heels of ALMABABY.
Passing the 850 Metres, BIG TIME BABY, which was over-racing, momentarily raced in restricted room between KEEP MOVING and ALMABABY which shifted in before being directed out to relieve the tightening to BIG TIME BABY.
Making the turn near the 550 Metres, KEEP MOVING got its head on the side and lay out towards the heels of BIG TIME BABY. Then near the 500 Metres, KEEP MOVING was checked when unable to maintain its position inside BIG TIME BABY. FORTUNE BOOTH, which was following, was steadied away from the heels of KEEP MOVING in consequence.
Near the 450 Metres, SUPER TURBO raced tight inside FANTASTIC FEELING.
Passing the 250 Metres, K Teetan (SUPER TURBO) dropped his whip.
Close to the finishing line, FORTUNE BOOTH was awkwardly placed outside the heels of ALMABABY.
Throughout the race, ALMABABY travelled wide and without cover.
After the race, G van Niekerk reported that FANTASTIC FEELING did not feel comfortable in its action throughout the race. A veterinary inspection of FANTASTIC FEELING immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. Before being allowed to race again, FANTASTIC FEELING will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
COUNTRY STAR and TELECOM BROTHERS were sent for sampling.
