WISHFUL THINKER lifted its front feet off the ground as the start was effected and then became unbalanced when bumped by SUPER TURBO which shifted in. After this, WISHFUL THINKER and SUPER TURBO were shifted across behind runners to obtain cover. Making the turn after the 600 Metres, SUPER HOPPY shifted in, brushed the running rail and became unbalanced. WISHFUL THINKER lost its right hind plate near the 250 Metres. Near the 150 Metres, WISHFUL THINKER was momentarily awkwardly placed inside TELECOM BROTHERS which shifted in. After being directed towards the outside of GUNNISON to obtain clear running near the 100 Metres, SUPER TURBO was not able to continue to shift out for a short distance due to BORN IN CHINA being awkwardly positioned outside SUPER TURBO and inside ALMABABY. Consequently, C Y Ho, the rider of SUPER TURBO, was not able to properly test his mount for a short distance after the 100 Metres. After the race, S de Sousa was not able to offer any explanation for the disappointing performance of SUPER HOPPY. He said SUPER HOPPY enjoyed a good run behind the speed, however, did not quicken in the Straight and failed to finish off the race. A veterinary inspection of SUPER HOPPY immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. A veterinary inspection of TELECOM BROTHERS and SEA JADE immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. GUNNISON, WISHFUL THINKER and CALIFORNIA FORTUNE were sent for sampling. <14/2/2019 Additional Veterinary Report>TELECOM BROTHERS, which performed poorly, was examined by the Veterinary Officer who said at that time there were no significant findings. TELECOM BROTHERS was again examined by the Veterinary Officer at the stables of Trainer Y S Tsui this morning. He said at this time he noted the horse to be lame in its right front leg. Before being allowed to race again, TELECOM BROTHERS will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
