Steward Report Predict Pace Map
From wide barriers, DRAGON COMMANDER, GOOD FIT and NAMJONG PLUS were all shifted across behind runners in the early stages. Near the 1550 Metres, VINCY was bumped by KING PRINT which shifted out marginally away from the heels of GRAND CHANCELLOR. After passing the winning post on the first occasion, KING PRINT shifted out marginally, resulting in BEAR SLAM being awkwardly placed inside the heels of SARRI. After the 800 Metres, KING PRINT came under heavy pressure to maintain its position, then approaching the 600 Metres was taken out by GRAND CHANCELLOR which got its head on the side and lay out despite the efforts of its rider. When taken out, KING PRINT bumped BEAR SLAM. As a result of being taken out, GENERAL SHERMAN and VOLPINO both improved into very tight running inside KING PRINT which commenced to give ground. As KING PRINT was giving ground, that horse shifted in marginally which resulted in VOLPINO being crowded for room and being taken in onto GENERAL SHERMAN which was checked and lost ground. After this, KING PRINT continued to give ground and finished tailed out. WILLIE WAY, which was following GENERAL SHERMAN, was hampered in consequence and shifted out away from the heels of GENERAL SHERMAN to avoid that horse which resulted in DRAGON COMMANDER being inconvenienced. As the Stewards found that KING PRINT giving ground abruptly approaching and passing the 600 Metres was the principal factor in this incident, no further action was taken. The performance of KING PRINT, which finished tailed out, was considered unacceptable. Before being allowed to race again, KING PRINT will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination. A veterinary inspection of KING PRINT immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. Throughout the race, SARRI travelled wide and without cover and subsequently finished tailed out. The performance of SARRI, was considered unacceptable. Before being allowed to race again, SARRI will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination. A veterinary inspection of NAMJONG PLUS immediately following the race including an endoscopic examination showed a substantial amount of blood in the horse's trachea. Before being allowed to race again, NAMJONG PLUS will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. A veterinary inspection of WILLIE WAY immediately following the race did not show any significant findings. PING HAI TREASURE and GRAND CHANCELLOR were sent for sampling. <4/4/2019 Additional Veterinary Report>KING PRINT, which performed poorly, was examined by the Veterinary Officer who said at that time there were no significant findings. KING PRINT was again examined by the Veterinary Officer at the stables of Trainer C H Yip this morning. He said at this time he noted the horse to be lame in its right front leg. As previously advised, KING PRINT will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination before being allowed to race again. NAMJONG PLUS, which performed poorly, was examined by the Veterinary Officer who said at that time an endoscopic examination showed a substantial amount of blood in the horse’s trachea. NAMJONG PLUS was again examined by the Veterinary Officer at the stables of Trainer Y S Tsui this morning. He said at this time he noted the horse to be lame in its right front leg.
