OUR GREEN began only fairly and then was crowded for room between DRAGON LEGEND which got its head on the side and shifted out and DIONYSUS COLLIN which was taken in by MURRAY’S PARTNERS which shifted in after bumping with FORTUNE BUDDY. MURRAY’S PARTNERS lost its right front plate shortly after the start. From a wide barrier, HARBOUR CENTURY was steadied in the early stages and shifted across behind runners. Also from the outside barrier, LE PANACHE was shifted across behind runners in the early stages to obtain a position with cover. After travelling a short distance, DIONYSUS COLLIN was bumped by MURRAY’S PARTNERS which was taken in by GOLDEN GENERAL (H N Wong) which shifted in. H N Wong was advised to exercise more care in similar circumstances. After the 1300 Metres, when being steadied to obtain cover, GOLDEN GENERAL got its head up on a number of occasions when racing keenly. After the 1100 Metres, GOLDEN GENERAL was left racing wide and without cover. Approaching and passing the 1000 Metres, HARBOUR CENTURY raced with its head on the side and was awkwardly placed inside the heels of AMAZING after the 1000 Metres. Making the turn after the 900 Metres, MURRAY’S PARTNERS shifted out and bumped AMAZING. Passing the 700 Metres, MURRAY’S PARTNERS was awkwardly placed behind BIG FORTUNE which raced close to the heels of MULTIMAX. Passing the 500 Metres, BUDDIES raced in restricted room between MULTIMAX and NICE FANDANGO which got its head on the side, lay out and made the Home Turn awkwardly. After the 50 Metres, LE PANACHE was momentarily awkwardly placed outside the heels of AMAZING. J Moreira (INTREPIC) stated that despite riding his mount aggressively for some distance in the early stages, it did not show the same speed as it did last start when it was able to be ridden in a forward position. He said when it became apparent that INTREPIC was not going to be able to take up a prominent position as intended, he shifted his mount across behind runners to obtain cover. He said despite being ridden much further back in the field than had been intended, INTREPIC still finished off the race well. BUDDIES and DIONYSUS COLLIN were sent for sampling.
